Muncie CS8 Series PTO Units

The Muncie CS8 is Muncie's clutch shift PTO on an SAE 8-bolt mounting. It shares its parts list and service manual with the 6-bolt Muncie CS6 Series and the CB6 and CB8 clutch brake models. A CS unit has a standard drag brake; a CB unit adds an optional shaft brake.

CS8 Series features

• SAE 8-bolt mountings: standard, metric, non-standard, low profile rear and deep.
• Transmission gears are listed for Aisin, Jatco, Allison, Clark/Fuller, Fuller, Mack, Mercedes, Spicer and Universal applications.
• Shifters include 12 or 24 volt manual air, 12 or 24 volt electric/air, and 12 or 24 volt electric/hydraulic, with Ram and GM 4500 to 6500 (2019 and later) versions.
• Options include pressure lube and a pulse generator.
• Outputs include a 1-1/4 inch round shaft, a 1410 companion flange, SAE A, B, BB and C pump flanges, and DIN 5462.
• A 1.44:1 speed ratio is offered on 8-bolt units only.

Find your exact unit

Start with the full model number on your PTO. A CS model number reads: CS, the mounting (8S is the SAE 8-bolt standard mount), the transmission gear designator, the speed ratio, then after the dash the shifter, assembly arrangement, output and special feature. For example, CS8S-M6509-A3EX is an 8-bolt standard mount with the Mack M65 gear, the 09 ratio, 12 volt manual air shift and an SAE C output.
