The Mack 20QE3336A or 20QE3336 shift knob and airline kit services Mack transmissions equipped with 2, 3, or 4 air line shift knobs. The kit replaces the three 3/16" airlines that run between the slave valve on top of the transmission and the shift knob, along with all fittings on the slave valve itself. Two 90-degree push-in style swivel fittings eliminate the need to remove the slave valve during installation, which protects synchronizers from the fitting over-tightening damage that can occur with original hardware. Simply push the airlines into the new fittings to complete the repair. The fourth port in the knob is for exhaust and can remain open or be routed below the cab floor. This kit replaces all fittings on the slave valve and the three 3/16" airlines between the slave valve (mounted on top of the transmission) and the shift knob. The 90-degree swivel fittings allow installation without removing the slave valve from the transmission. Push the airlines directly into the new fittings, no thread sealing or torquing required. The fourth port in the shift knob is an exhaust port; it can be left open or fitted with one of the original lines routed below the cab floor. Over-tightening original brass fittings on the slave valve is a known cause of synchronizer damage; this push-in fitting design eliminates that risk.
