The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GBFJP-H5XD or 281GBFJPH5XD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar units. The 281 Series evolves from the proven 280 Series with a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and an enhanced clutch pack with 80% thicker steel discs to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high-speed applications. The Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times, and SmartStart reduces shock load at engagement. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects downstream driven equipment. Common markets include fire and rescue, refuse, pumper-cleaner, and truck crane applications.
