The Chelsea 897 Series Power Take-Off 897LEFJW-M5AF or 897LEFJWM5AF is a constant-mesh PTO designed specifically for Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. It mounts via a 10-bolt pattern and uses an SAE C outlet flange with an SAE C (XS) output shaft. The continuous-duty torque rating reaches 670 lb-ft (908 Nm), with intermittent torque capability above 501 lb-ft. Shaft power output is 64 HP at 500 RPM and 128 HP at 1,000 RPM. The one-piece main shaft eliminates the input splines found in PTO-plus-extension configurations, and the pump interface locates to the rear of the transmission for improved frame-rail clearance. Wet spline output lubrication extends pump shaft life in demanding service. Common applications include aerial trucks, fire and rescue, refuse, and truck crane equipment.
