The Chelsea 897HCFJW-M5XS or 897HCFJWM5XS is a constant-engagement power take-off assembly built for Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. The 897 Series design relocates the pump mounting flange to the rear of the transmission, letting the housing tuck tightly against the transmission and freeing up clearance where space is tight. A one-piece main shaft eliminates the input splines between the PTO body and the output extension. The SAE C output uses Wet Spline Technology to extend pump shaft life under demanding duty cycles. Output shift type is constant engagement (M designation), with a 10-bolt mounting pattern and SAE C outlet flange. Continuous torque rating reaches 670 ft-lb; shaft power output is 64 HP at 500 RPM and 128 HP at 1,000 RPM. Common applications include aerial, fire and rescue, refuse, and crane trucks where both pump clearance and high torque output are priorities.
