The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off, part number 272XKJWX-A5BD or 272XKJWXA5BD, is a 6-bolt hot shift PTO built for medium-duty hydraulic and aerial applications. It mounts to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM, among others. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with a 5/16" key. Shift options include pneumatic (air) or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic), and the unit includes an integral air control valve. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates and replaces the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series medium-duty hot shift PTOs into a single, more flexible platform. The series offers nine speed ratios, eighteen shift configurations, and a range of direct-mount and driveshaft output options. Direct-mount variants are available with optional Wet-Spline technology for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations can include the Smart-Start option, designed to handle high-torque start-up conditions.
