The Chelsea 897 Series PTO Assembly, part number 897LDFJW-M5XS or 897LDFJWM5XS, is a constant-engagement (constant mesh) power take-off engineered for Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. It mounts via a 10-bolt pattern and uses a one-piece main shaft that positions the SAE C output flange at the rear of the transmission, tucking the gear section tight to the housing for improved pump clearance without a separate extension unit. The wet-spline output lubrication extends pump shaft service life in demanding duty cycles. Continuous torque rating reaches 670 lb-ft (908 Nm); intermittent torque is rated at 501+ lb-ft. Shaft power output is 64 HP at 500 RPM and 128 HP at 1,000 RPM. Typical applications include aerial trucks, fire and rescue, refuse trucks, and truck cranes.
