The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 272XSJWX-P5RK or 272XSJWXP5RK, is a 6-bolt hot shift PTO designed for medium-duty applications in aerial, construction, towing and recovery, and water truck service. It ships with a 1-1/4" round output shaft with a 5/16" key and supports pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) engagement. The 272 Series carries a continuous torque rating up to 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) and an intermittent torque rating in the 201-300 lb-ft range. At 1,000 RPM the series delivers up to 57 HP (43 kW). The 272 consolidates several earlier Chelsea series into one versatile platform compatible with transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, RAM, and others. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series into a single versatile medium-duty platform. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options. Direct-mount configurations are available with optional Wet-Spline technology for extended PTO and pump shaft life. Driveshaft output configurations include the Smart-Start option, which handles high-torque start-up conditions. The integral air control valve is included with all shift configurations.
