The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off assembly, part number 272XKJWX-A5XD or 272XKJWXA5XD, is a 6-bolt hot shift PTO rated for up to 300 lb-ft of continuous torque (407 Nm). It mounts to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM, making it one of the most broadly compatible medium-duty PTOs in the 272 Series lineup. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Shift is pneumatic (PowerShift pneumatic/hydraulic), and the unit ships with an integral air control valve. Output power is rated at 56+ HP (41-50 kW). At 500 RPM the shaft delivers 29 HP (21 kW); at 1,000 RPM that rises to 57 HP (43 kW). The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates several earlier medium-duty hot shift PTO families - including the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series - into a single platform with nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options.
