The Chelsea 897HEFJW-M5XS or 897HEFJWM5XS is a constant-mesh Power Take-Off Assembly engineered for Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. The 897 Series uses a one-piece main shaft that positions the SAE C pump interface at the rear of the transmission, tucking the housing tightly against the unit for improved clearance between the PTO and the frame rail. Mounting is 10-bolt, consistent with standard side-mount PTO installation, with an additional rear-of-transmission bracket for support. Output engagement is constant mesh (M designation). The wet-spline output (W designation) reduces wear on the pump shaft interface in demanding duty cycles. Continuous-duty torque rating reaches 670 ft-lb; intermittent torque is rated at 501+ ft-lb.
